The Nick van Gelder First Nations Scholarship

In September 2024, in partnership with St Andrew’s College, the Foundation proudly established the Nick van Gelder First Nations Scholarship program. The program will launch in the 2025 academic year and is offering up to A$25,000 per annum to support First Nations undergraduate students pursuing a career in infrastructure to reside at St Andrew’s College located on The University of Sydney’s campus.

The scholarship provides opportunities and support to First Nations undergraduate students who would otherwise not be able to follow their dreams in the field of infrastructure due to significant obstacles, such as lack of financial resources or access to education programmes.

The Foundation’s program seeks to support outstanding high school graduates who have a continuing passion for academic excellence, sport, the arts, leadership, entrepreneurship, development and contributing positively to their community.

Applications for 2025 are now open and will close on December 1st, 2024.

Objectives of The First Nations Scholarship Program

The Nick van Gelder First Nations Scholarship aims to:

  • Sponsor First Nations undergraduate students to reside at St Andrew’s College whilst studying an infrastructure related discipline at a university in Sydney; and

  • Provide mentoring, support and internship opportunities through our network of program benefactors.
